I was delighted, honoured and utterly gobsmacked to be invited to speak at a TedX event organised by King’s College London.
The event’s title was “Beyond The Genes” and saw the likes of Kathy Lette and Simon Baron- Cohen take to the stage.
It was undoubtedly the single most scary thing I have done, I was wracked with nerves. But I am proud I got through it, note free, and hope that the words I spoke may help someone out there. Of course, I would say different things now as I am still learning. I can’t claim to be a scientist like some of the other speakers, I am just a mum.
